Legal regulation of criminal acts and criminal liability



In an effort to develop a national legal system compatible with the concept of the rule of law and the European Union’s legal experience, the Ministry of Justice drafts or helps other public authorities to draft legal acts on the adoption, amendment or revocation of legal standards of criminal law of the Republic of Lithuania related to the criminalisation of penal offences, changing of constituent elements of criminal acts, decriminalisation of penal offences, as well as changing of legal consequences of criminal acts provided for in the criminal law of the Republic of Lithuania, taking into account forms of national crime control, penal policy directions, international obligations and international cooperation development tendencies.
